This is for the men...or should I say the women who purchase products for the men in your life.
We all know that most men do not put a lot of thought about the ingredients in their products. Most of them are all the quickest and simplest routine. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that - in some ways I'm a little bit jealous!
Typically women will dictate the majority of the products and food that go into their household for their families. Now I'm not saying that this is always the case, but when we women become educated on the toxicity of products and how to make better choices, we will be the ones to share that information with the men in our lives and convince them to make the switch with us to safer products. There really is something about knowing that not only are you making calculated decisions on what you put in and on your body, but that the people you love are also making those decisions for themselves and their health as well.
Now try convincing your guy to switch to a non-toxic deodorant when the majority of the options out there smell like essential oils. It is a lovely smell, but for a manly man who works with his hands, that is not quite the way he wants to smell after a hard day of work.
My guy is all about safer ingredients after the information that I've shared with him. He has even sent me texts and pictures of products that he has found and then looked up on EWG to find the rating, it makes me such a proud girlfriend! The best part is that my dad has followed suite and has found some products that work for him that have been approved and are completely non-toxic!
Now, it has been quite a challenge to find non-toxic products targeted at men, but I believe that it is a growing market and I can't wait to explore new brands and see what else it out there for them! These are the current products that he is loving and re-purchasing.
- Native Deodorant in the scent Citrus & Herbal Musk. This scent is a total home run. The scent is amazing and is also the only deodorant that he has re-purchased based on how well it works and how manly the scent actually is! (Yes I know there is baking soda in this, but he loves it and it doesn't cause him irritation so it works for him.)
- Dr. Woods Peppermint Castile Soap - He's all about that 3-in-1.
- David's Toothpaste
- John Masters Organic's Sculpting Clay - He's working on switching out his hair pomade from his old favorite to a clean version of a high hold one and just started with this one. He might need to add some of their hairspray on top of the clay because of how thick and long his hair is on top, but so far so good!
I would love to hear your thoughts and your experience with assisting the men in your life to cleaner products or some products that they are currently loving that we should check out! If you have a hair pomade he should try out, comment with your recommendation below!
